Food-service distribution

Freight documents reconciled in Odoo

Starting point. A distributor reconciled freight shipments against receiving documents by hand, and every match had to stay traceable to its shipment record.

The constraint. The customer PO sat inside a combined field, and an earlier platform upgrade had collapsed the phone fields.

What changed. A custom freight tracker in Odoo links every matched document back to its shipment, a stage workflow mirrors the legacy stages, and plain-English AI requests produce downloadable reports.

Manufacturing

Product data cleaned up after a bad migration

Starting point. A textile manufacturer carried twinned product records and colliding barcodes out of a legacy ERP migration, so a barcode scan could resolve to the wrong product.

The constraint. The cleanup ran on the live ERP alongside real receiving and ordering work, with the running order book untouched.

What changed. A custom cleanup module found the duplicates and re-pointed open order lines at canonical products. New duplicates are blocked at import.

QuickBooks books moved to Odoo

Starting point. A container and packaging supplier ran its books on a legacy accounting platform and a separate inventory system, moving to Odoo under a CFO reconciliation standard.

The constraint. The opening entry had to tie to the accountant trial balance, with receivables, payables and inventory arriving as sub-ledger detail.

What changed. The books landed with the standard met and monthly catch-up entries reconciled penny-accurate, and the warehouse locations and custom modules carried forward.
